SUBMISSION PROCESS AND PEER REVIEW PROCESS

Papers submitted to Annali di Igiene are carefully reviewed in the first instance by one of the members of the Editorial Board. Papers that: do not meet editorial requirements; are methodically flawed; or lack originality will be rejected. Also papers that fail to provide sufficient ethical approval, where required, will be rejected.

Papers that do not comply with this journal style will be referred back to the Author/s for revision prior to any review.


Papers which pass the Editorial review will be sent out for peer-review and will be reviewed by two external reviewers. Short communications will only be sent to one reviewer. Reviewers are asked to consider whether the paper: contains new research findings or information; is relevant to public health practice, is technically sound; and is suitably presented.

Reviewers are also requested to offer comments and suggestions to the Author/s and the Editor. Reviewers may request the Author/s to submit again the revised paper for a second scrutiny before acceptance. In case of contrast in the judgement by the Reviewers, the Editor in chief may ask for the intervention of an additional Reviewer.
